Every song that is played on the “Come on over” CD has a lot of positive messages that brings a smile to my face and to the friends i have shown this CD to. Echo town delivers a positive message to all listeners, old and young, and i truly hope they become world wide known.

2011 was a good year for Echo Town

January 2nd, 2012

Hey everyone,

Well, what can we say. 2011 has been a blast. We have accomplished some awesome things that we are super stoked about. Recording the album in March, releasing the album on iTunes in April and then on CD in May. What a beautiful year its been and we have had some excellent support along the way. The times we managed to get out busking were great, thank you so much for your love and energy. The shows we played. Massive highlight was the Tomfest 2011, never felt such energy. We played a primary school and had all the kids dancing, we played a basement show to around 100 people everyone was groovin’. We have had sales in Australia, America, Canada, different areas of Europe. Some people have told us they play our music every morning to get themselves kick started; some have said they play our music during the night to help them relax. That’s beautiful. We have performed at weddings this year and it’s a phenomenal honour to be called up to be a part of a new couple’s special day. Also, we have been considerably late to two gigs during 2011 due to over surfing, we were pretty frustrated with ourselves, but we thank all of you for being relaxed and laughing it off. We also had our first magazine review.

Robert and I have had the privilege of working with some insane talents, musicians, performers and photographers. We think off all the people that took part in helping us create such a beautiful album. In my head, I had a vibe I wanted to record and oftentimes when you record it can be let down by a lot of different factors. When we recorded our album “Come on Over” everything came out correct, every sound, every note was how I wanted it to be. I can only thank my brother, Robert, and all the other people for helping capture that sound. I have never been 100% happy with any recording I have ever done, but with this album I am. One last thing, Roni Szpakowski, the producer of “Come on Over”, needs a special mention because he was the main person that helped create that sound that many of you have come to love. He is a hard working perfectionist and an amazing soul to work with.

Some excellent photographer talents have entertained us and our ideas during 2011. Ottilie Simpson captured some brilliant still photos of us for our album artwork as well as for a photoshoot we did during September. She literally lifts her camera and captures the shot. I have to admit I would think in my head “is that it? Don’t you want to do a couple more?” after she had taken a photo. But then when looking at the final image it was clear she was satisfied as were we. Beautiful talent and a beautiful soul.

Maximilien Czech is a name to remember and watch out for. He was the guy that recorded our music video for us. Never have I met someone so passionate about every angle, every location, every shot and every idea. He was a ball of enthusiasm and energy and when you watch the “Feeling Alright” music video you really do get a sense of that energy and happiness. We had fun, loads of fun, but that man worked very hard and put many extra hours into making that video look amazing. Someone that watched it asked “Who on earth filmed this video for you? Did you have some kind of big BBC crew to film it or something?” They were very shocked when we said “No it was just one guy!” We are planning to do something epic with Max this year too.

We mainly want to thank everyone that has supported us at shows, when busking and online. We are just a little band, we aren’t big shots, we don’t have masses of money for promotion so the fact that people are telling other people about us is awesome. There are many free ways to get thousands and thousands of fans overnight on social sites, but we have steered well clear of such fake ego boosting techniques. Slow and steady collection of supporters and followers is all we ask, its more personal, more pure. We ask you to keep spreading the word, playing our album here there and everywhere. When we finally pay off the debt from this album we will be thinking about getting all of our new stuff recorded and released, and we truly cannot wait to share that stuff with you all. We have stopped watching or looking at mainstream stuff that’s going on musically, we don’t think there is a lot of purity left in the industry. Many of you have expressed that you get such a good inner feeling from what we do, that is better than all the money and all the record contracts in the world.

I will be posting some of the feedback you have left us from 2011 on a separate blog to this. Please have a read, see if you are in there. I’m sure some of the things said will make you smile.

We hope everyone has a blast in 2012, keep spreading the word and talking to us. We appreciate your feedback all the time, it keeps us going.

Peace, Love and Echo Town

Richard
(Rob will no doubt agree with all of the above sentiments, but he’s too busy drumming. Haha.)

Our first magazine review

September 9th, 2011

Hey everyone,
Don’t know if you saw the magazine review scan we put on our Facebook but we are so happy to be in a publication. We have had some newspaper coverage in the past but to be in a nationwide magazine that goes out to 30,000+ subscribers is something else. Highly positive review indeed. Have a look at the image below and have a read. Positive things brewing for Echo Town.

Much peace and love to all.

Massive thanks

August 15th, 2011

We guys here at Echo Town would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has supported us so far by buying the album. The ratings and reviews on iTunes are amazing, we actually have more ratings and reviews than some of our favourite artists on iTunes which really makes us smile. Also you haven’t just written “this is a good album”, but you have written entire reviews, decent lengthy reviews that really show your appreciation for our music.

CD sales have been good and the feedback we have received is so positive that we cannot wait to record and show you what we have been working on. Unfortunately because of our car accident at the end of May we held off from booking too many shows. We have only been able to busk or travel a little due to our parents lending us one of their cars. Without this kindness and generosity you wouldn’t have seen us at all. So we need some shows!!!

We would like to you all to keep plugging the album, playing it at your parties, BBQs, telling your friends, encouraging them to get the album from iTunes or on CD. We have had some awesome feedback from America, Australia, Canada and Europe. We sent our CDs to Australia the other day, the country that has inspired a lot of our music. We have a small pocket of fans in South Wales we would like to say thank you to as Echo Town has become a part of their daily routine. People are telling us that our music is brightening their day and cheering them up. Our hearts are warmed by this.

Please continue to support us and please talk to us, message us, suggest how we can improve our site, our Facebook. What would you like to see on the Facebook page and website etc?

Keep the vibes flowing. Winter is coming, but our hearts and spirits can still be warm.

Peace, love and Echo Town.

Richard Harrison. :)

We need people to make up a backing chorus on one of our new songs so we thought that we would open up this opportunity to the people that have supported us so far. Just Some of the Awesome Feedback from 2010!!! You have made us smile.

January 7th, 2011

Hey everyone,

Well, 2010 certainly was a lot of fun for us. We began busking, changed our music style completely from rather depressing heavy songs to more mellow feelgood acoustic songs. This transition almost happened overnight. We find it sometimes difficult to listen to the music we used to. We began busking in March 2010. How was our change recieved though? We immediately began to get a very positive response. To this day we are amazed and flattered by how many people come and stand and watch for a number of different songs and jams. Some of you have sat for hours watching. Every single comment we recieve is taken to heart immediately. We sometimes wish we could recall some of the awesome things people say. I have taken the liberty below to re-post just some of the written feedback recieved from you during 2010. Some of those days we were feeling really low, or the weather was bad or we had been complained at, yet these messages made it all worthwhile. See if yours is in here. If not…write a new one. haha. There were very good days and very bad days busking or doing shows, but in every instance there was someone that reminded us that it isn’t all that bad. Also, big thanks to all the fans on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Please continue to support us and get in touch. As a final comment, thank you so much for actually coming out and seeing us. Some of you change your schedules or make arrangements to see us play…some of you even complain if we are going to your city on a day that you aren’t available. This always makes us smile.

Anyway, please have a read of some of the comments below…again sorry if we missed your post. Massive thanks to everyone that posted, supported, bought CDs or just tapped your foot and smiled.  Let’s make 2011 a year of good vibes.

Peace, Love, Respect.

Thank you everyone for an awesome 2010

December 27th, 2010

Hey everyone,

So, finally decided to post a blog again which is a good thing I guess.
First of all we would like to thank you all for a wonderful 2010. This was the first year of busking for us and we are happy to say that from the word ‘go’ we have received some amazing feedback. We have met some beautiful souls old and young. We will post some of the feedback we have received at some point soon in a blog.

Genuinely though, every single smile we get, every tap of someone’s foot to our music, every clap brightens our day. People have commented on how much we both smile…well you guys have generated that.

All the tips, CD sales and money we have collected from gigs has, with a lot of help from our understanding parents, carried us through this year. We would like to thank you all for that as this is our work and career. As an additional point, we are registered as self-employed and declare literally every single penny that we earn; don’t want Mr Tax Man getting on our case.

2011 is going to be a good year though, we can feel it. More on that to come later.
Thanks for reading and keep checking back or subscribe.

Thank you.

Richard’s Solo Acoustic Album

February 21st, 2010

Hey guys,

I am happy to announce that my solo acoustic album should be available for purchase by March time. I am still in the process of getting it published. But the covers are looking pretty sweet, and the samples of them that I have recieved back are looking smart.

The album is pretty chilled out, completely different from the heavier band stuff. Most of the music on it is inspired by my love of nature and surfing. The songs on there mellow me out and I hope they will have a similar affect on you if you get a copy and support me. It should be available as a CD and hopefully also for download from iTunes.

Hope you are well.

Richard. :)
